Karna in the Mahabharata

: Dr. Manoj Kumar Patel :

The Mahabharata is full with characters and personalities which any generation will be proud to have during its time. Human are bound to be a mix of good and bad. When good overpowers bad the society at large gets benefited in the hands of such personalities. But when bad overpowers good then battles like Mahabharata are fought to establish good and eliminate evils.

Mahabharata is a time that saw a jumble of good and bad on the side of bad. The King Dhritarastra and his over ambitious son Duryodhana had great souls like Bhishma and Vidura as their elders and well wishers. But both the father son duo preferred to listen to the crook Shakuni. The trouble thus began.

Mahabharata is replete with examples that bad, however powerful it may be, can not triumph over good and righteousness.

The present deliberation is on Karna who is treated as an ultimate hero by few and a villain by equally others.

Please read and decide for yourself. A view contrary to mine is welcome to change my own understanding.
