Management and Consumption of Time

Time: Management vs Consumption
: Dr. Manoj Kumar Patel :

In order to contain the spread of covid19 virus, lockdown period enforced in India on 23rd March 2020 is still continuing. Hopefully, we shall come out of the danger of the virus. Down the line maybe a few months later normalcy will return to our daily lives. Let us hope for the best.

Today I went to purchase some necessary materials like vegetables and groceries. It took me about 15 minutes to get properly dressed u in masks and hand gloves, 1-hour to complete the purchase, about 15 minutes to keep the purchased materials in a corner in quarantine for next 24 hours before it will be transferred to the shelves and fridge, 1 hour to clean myself up through extended bathing, and then 10 minutes to sterilize the handles of the doors. The grocery purchased is sufficient for another 15 days and the vegetables purchased will be sufficient for my family for another 7 days. So, I had to use about 2 hours and thirty minutes to arrange food materials for 15 days. This amount of time is for the purchase from the nearest point despite quality as available and not as per quality desired. In the normal circumstances, the time needed for this much of purchases from these vendors would have taken a 1-hour maximum.

Point is, when the pandemic is out and we are under social distancing and working from home, the time is now getting consumed in carrying out activities hitherto not required pre covid19 period.

Take the description easy. Jotting down the thoughts was one of my other ways to use plenty of time now available in the absence of office work.
